The announced data was realeased by the Finance Department.
For the month of September, the budget gap was at P27.5B, up 27.3% from 21.6B of 2008. In a press briefing by Finance Secretary Margarito B. Teves, he said that the national government incurred a budget deficit of P237.5 billion from January to September this year, higher than the programmed ceiling by P19.9 billion, due mainly to weak revenues.
